All I can say really is that life has went on.....

Today the twins turned 3!

MAZIE aka Snow White
MAVRICK aka Buzz Light Year or the Grinch....depending on the day!
Had a good day celebrating with family and friends. I can't believe that they are 3 already! Where has the last 3 years gone?

Busier than ever...

I can't believe April is half over! I keep waiting for the day for life to slow down so I can enjoy it, but I often get advice to quit waiting and enjoy what you have. I know that when my kids are grown and gone, I will be bored out of my mind, but it would be nice to have maybe a few days where I had nothing to do and no where to go so I could get something done around the house.

Ok enough whining...Isn't the sunshine FABULOUS? I have missed it for oh so long. It is so good to have it return to my life!

A few more weeks before we open up at the lake for the summer. I hope we didn't have any critters move in for the winter! Always am a little nervous to go that first time and see what is in store for us! I hope my husband did a good job of closing up last fall. That is usually the key to keeping the critters out.

Prom was last weekend. Still don't have my photos all edited yet but will post some soon for all to see. The girls these days seems to be so tall and skinny....makes me hate them just a little...and the dresses were all beautiful and of course the guys always look so handsome. Ty was "pimpin" in his tux. I will have to get those pictures done soon!

Working on putting up a fence in the backyard. You wouldn't believe the mess out there right now. Thank God for Bobcats! My hubby and his brother Dave and Reese worked last Saturday pulling out the schrubs and dead trees so we could get that all cleaned up before the fencing come ins. I hope this doesn't turn out to be an all summer project. Was hoping to get it up and finished before school is out for the summer. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Off to enjoy some sunshine for a little bit before our banquet tonight. Have a nice weekend!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

Went to the cities on Friday and I found my new favorite store. IKEA!!! I purchased the most awesome bookcase for my scrapbook room. I can't wait to assemble and get my room all organized. It's going to be fabulous!

Took the kids to the MOA and went on some rides, did some shopping, and came home. Went to bed exhausted. Got up and the Easter bunny had left some treats (first year we haven't dyed eggs ever, a little sad about that) and then we headed outside because it is beautiful out and raked the yard.

Dinner at my parents and fun visiting with family.

Now off to do some homework! UUGGHHHH..........can't wait to graduate!

Wow

Wow....where has the time gone? Last week was so busy that I think I forgot to live a little...

Monday - Wrestling & Science Fair project

Tuesday - Basketball & Science Fair project completion

Wednesday - JEFF DUNHAM! He was Hilarious!

Thursday - Basketball

Friday - MONSTER JAM

Saturday - Basketball Tournament & Steph's birthday supper

Sunday - Homework, catch up on laundry, Super Bowl Party

Then the week started all over again and it is looking about the same as last week.

Piper is sick. She has a horrible cough, (did you know that dogs cough??) a fever, and a respiratory infection. She got a shot yesterday, antibiotics and cough medicine....it is just like taking your kid to the doctor but it was way cheaper!!

Sports

I love to watch basketball! Both G & T are avid BB players. I know the game and it's even more exciting when your kids are playing. The first tournament of the year the boys took 4th. Overall this season they have a pretty good record. It makes no difference to me whether they win or lose as long as we WIN!

I am not cut out to be a wrestling mom. Too much stress on my heart watching my little baby on the mat. I feel his pain out there. Fortunately for him (and me) this match only lasted 54 seconds.

1 - 2 - 3 Pin!
Since T had surgery he is not in any sports right now. His options were limited since if he waited for surgery he would have missed baseball and we can't miss a baseball season. What would we do in the summer if we didn't have 100 baseball games to go to??

Weekends...

We have a new member of our household (sort of) and her name is Zoey! She is a 10 week old Puggle. T & J picked her up on Wednesday and her and Piper are slowly getting used to each other. I think Zoey was missing her mommy for awhile because she sure was snuggling a lot on Thursday.

We have the twins here for the weekend. We took them and D & R in to get their pictures taken this morning. I will let you know how they turned out after I see the proofs. It's kind of hard (almost impossible) to get two 2 yr olds, a 3 yr old, and a 7 yr old all to cooperate at the same time! The photographer played it cool with them and let them do their own thing so I am sure she got some great shots.
It's raining! Yes, I said raining! In January! In North Dakota! I often ask myself why I live here, but the only answer I come up with is ___________!!! I guess you have to deal with something no matter where you live. Earthquakes! Hurricanes! Crime! It's all out there somewhere, I might as well live in the frigid cold for 9 months out of the year so I can have something to look forward to in July! The SUN!

Half way through...

This week has turned into one of those weeks that can't seem to end fast enough. I had some pretty lofty goals set for the week and here it is Wednesday already and I have accomplished nothing! No pictures posted yet, laundry all backed up again, homework piling up, work dragging me down, etc....

On to a more positive note...G won his basketball game last night! And R won both of his wrestling matches by a pin!

So maybe this evening while T is picking up his and J's new puppy and G is at confirmation, I might just be able to use the computer and get some photos posted or I might just do nothing! That sounds about right!

Sunday

Well the weekend is almost over and I almost accomplished everything on my to do list. My laundry is done. Can you believe it? Only washed about 25 loads in 2 days! I am fairly certain that my kids clothes multiply in their dressers and closets. How else would they have so many? They don't even like to shop!

I spent a few hours scrapbooking with some good friends I hadn't seen for a long time. I got more talking and eating and laughing done than scrapping, but that's ok with me. I will post some pictures this week to show you a couple pages that I had done.

Saturday we had a basketball tournament to go to. The boys played really well and ended up 4th place. The ref's were against us (isn't that what every losing team says) and the boy's attitudes got worse as the day went on, but they still played a good game of ball! I took 200 pictures trying to find the perfect setting on my camera. I am still new to the D-SLR game and am not so sure that "auto" is the right setting for everything. The gym was well lit, so that helped, but still not sure I got many good shots out of the 200. I need to put them in photoshop and see what I can do. I will post those later on this week as well.

Sunday came really fast...too fast. After church we went to Mom & Dad's for brunch and to watch the "Big" game. Vikings won! I love Brett Favre! Mostly cuz he's hot, but he also throws a great pass!

Off to do some homework and get ready for the week!

Thanks for stopping by. Come back soon and I will have pictures posted from the weekend.

Dear Friday

Dear Friday:

Oh how I love thee!

The end of the work week is dwindling down and soon the stress of it all will be packed away for 2 glorious days! (Not really, but hey, it's a good thought!)

As you can see from yesterday's post, laundry is a HUGE deal at my house. Do I make my teenage sons wash their own clothes? Not yet, but it may happen soon! 3 hampers full were dropped near the washing maching Wednesday evening when their cell phone privilages were threatened if they didn't clean their rooms. The problem with that was now I have 3, let me repeat that again, 3 hampers full of dirty clothes! Is that what I like to spend my nights and weekends doing? Not so much...so to teach or not to teach? That is the question...

Chronicles of Our Life

This was going to be the year. My goals were set, my desires were known, my New Year's resolutions were made and here it is, January 14 and not one thing has been accomplished.

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to take a picture everyday of something in our life. I have seen this POTD challenge on many other blogs and scrapbooking websites and always thought it would be a great idea. What better time to start than on January 1, 2010. January 3rd 11:55pm comes around and I realize I haven't taken a picture yet that day. Not off to a good start. I refused to get out of bed just to take a picture and since I am an all or nothing kind of person I kind of gave up already. Just doesn't work to try to keep up when I can't even keep up 3 days into the challange!

Another resolution/goal was to spend 30 minutes 2 days a week in my scrapbook room organizing and taking inventory. Let's see, it's January 14 and so far I have spent 10 minutes in there looking for mechanical pencils and a 5 subject notebook for my son. Not quite what I had in mind.

Exercise...ever thought about it? I do. Daily. Do I exercise daily? No silly, I think about it daily. Was even thinking that I would start but sometime between missing the first day of the year and my all or nothing attitude it was lost...the thought that is, not the weight.

So as with all broken resolutions here come the excuses...too much laundry, too many dishes, too much homework, too much playing outside, too much playing with the dog, and the list goes on, and on, and on....
